Karen Stamps a Lot

I can't get enought of this Stamp set!

...and it will soon be gone. I know I am hung up on this card design, too, but the Designer Paper made me do it once again. The paper retired with this most recent catalog, but it may well be offered on Stampin Up's clearance rack. It is Greenhouse Gala. Love the colors! I inked the butterfly with Baja Breeze and used a sponge dauber to add the Pear Pizzazz to the edges. I think this is my favorite version - I guess because it is less monochromatic than my other two. What do you think? It is one of the cards we are making at my class tonight. If you want this stamp set order it now...I do not think it will be in a future catalog since it is a fund raiser for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Strength and Hope in pink this time

This is the same basic card I posted yesterday, but with a flower instead of a bow. I Used Pretty in Pink  and Pink Pirouette and the script stamp from the same stamp set, Strength and Hope. I will post directions of how to make it here tomorrow. Hope your weekend is going well.

Summer Mini Hostess set...Love & Care

Here is a card that I used for a workshop yesterday. It uses one of the Hostess sets from the Summer Mini catalog, called Love & Care (see stamp images on p. 5 in the Summer Mini) Clear Mount is $10  or wood mount $14. Instead of being a level 2 stamp set that you have to hold a $300 workshop for, you can have a minimum of $150 workshop and get it plus still have $10 to spend on something else. That is pretty cool. For this card, we inked one of the acrylic blocks with So Saffron and "stamped" it on the front of the card. Then we used Stampin Sponges to apply Poppy Parade to the flower petals and More Mustard to the flower center. Using Stampin Sponges are a great way to apply multiple colors of ink to a stamp...you are not able to be really detailed, because the sponge is the size of a fingertip, but it works well for coloring something like leaves or flowers, that are not a real even color anyway. We stamped it once, then a second time without re-coloring the stamp. That is how the flower is lighter to the right. I was not able to get a good picture of the inside of the card, but I also stamped the "second generation image" on the inside of the card. Sometimes a really simple, one layer card, is just right!

Pool Party, Chocolate Chip, Wild Wasabi Mojo #201

Here is my card for the Mojo Monday 201 challenge. I also used a color challenge (CC332) from over at SplitCoastStampers again. Last week it was using Pool Party, Wild Wasabi and Chocolate Chip

 
plus a neutral - I used Sahara Sand, although I guess the Whisper White is one too. Anyway, I used Flower Fest...a stamp set that is in the Summer Mini catalog that happened to get into the regular catalog. It goes with six different punches that we carry, so stamping and punching them out is a great way to really make the flowers pop off your card or page.

I used some Wild Wasabi TEXTURED cardstock and for the patterned paper for the left panel of the card is made from random stamping some of the images in three of the colors. The Top of the card is using the large flower, inked in Pool Party (color on color).The sentiment is from one of the new hostess reward sets that you can get with part of your hostess rewards. It is called Happiest Birthday Wishes and has eleven images, of course all BIRTHDAY. I inked the whole image in Pool Party the "rock-n-rolled it in the Wild Wasabi, to get the color around the edge. I don't have the 2-3/8" scallop circle punch, so I had to cut the large flower out...not too tough. Ha...I just noticed that I did not use my Big Shot! Oh, well maybe next time.

My card for the MOJO Monday 200

Here is my card from last weeks color challenge that I got from Splitcoaststampers - Rich Razzelberry, Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo. I combined it with the Mojo 200 sketch from yesterday. I used the Summer Mini Hostess set, Love & Care plus a new set Field Flowers...I actually used the sentiment thinking that it was from the Love & Care set - doesn't matter, I still really like it. 
  It was a little hard for me to use three bright colors on a flower card. I will edit this post with the supplies I used later. It is after midnight and I have to finish up cutting some corn for the freezer. YUM!

***I just looked at other entries and they are really great! There is one very similar to mine, I swear I did not go off of it...great minds think alike!

Mojo Monday sketch #199

I am trying to get some samples made up using some new stamps and In Colors, for upcoming events. This weeks Mojo Monday 199 sketch is a great start to a card for any occassion.

I used a new set called Love & Sympathy. I like the watercolor style of the flowers. I used one of the new In-colors, Wisteria Wonder, together with Concord Grape and Old Olive. I colored the flower image with my markers. I also used one of the triple layer punches in the Summer Mini that we now have in the regular catalog, Bloom Bouquet. It is very interesting, one punch makes three different pieces that can be used together or separately. I punched the border, using the solid punch image and last years In-color Prints pack designer paper...it is still available through this catalog since they are on a two year cycle now instead of one year. I also cut my circles with the Big Shot and the Circle Scissor. This is the card I came up with. I hope you enjoy it and be sure to go see the other submissions over at Mojo Monday.

Here is one of the cards that we made at the workshop I mentioned yesterday.
