I do classes and I do workshops...what is the difference? Both are great fun, but if you have a workshop you will now earn a higher level of Hostess dollars. For example, with workshop orders of only $150, you will receive $25 credit that you can use to purchase your choice of discounted Hostess-only stamp sets or anything from the Stampin Up catalog.
For a workshop:
CATALOG: You can collect orders from friends and turn them into me to receive benefits. Dollar for dollar, you will get the same credit as you would if I come to your house...however, if you are local to me and we have a workshop together, I assure you that people in attendance will surely see something new or learn something that they will want to get the supplies to do the project for themselves. If you live away from me, I can have everything sent directly to you.
IN HOME: You invite your friends to come to your house, or other location, for a fun time stamping and learning about stamping. I provide 2 projects at no charge that you and your guests will complete. They do not need to have any experience. They do not need to bring anything except themselves. You can provide some simple refreshments, but keep in mind that we are going to be working with paper and I would hate to have peoples projects ruined from something being spilled, so serving something after everyone is done creating is the best option. I try to get in and out in about 2 hours. I can have the workshop items sent to you if you prefer, but I like to receive the merchandise myself, so I can be sure that everything is received as we ordered it and I can put all the orders together for you to deliver to your friends.
The purpose of a workshop is for the Hostess to earn benefits from the items that her friends will purchase from me during a specified time frame and for me to meet some new people who may become occassional or regular customers. I prefer to close the workshop within a few days so no one is waiting to receive their goodies. I do not twist arms for guests to purchase, however, you need to keep in mind that the purpose is for you to earn benefits and just having warm bodies doesn't do that...EVERYONE is welcome though! If you have 2 or 3 friends, that is FINE.
I can do workshops in the evenings, Saturdays anytime or Sunday afternoons. I would like to schedule something about 4 weeks ahead of time to let us have the time to discuss your goals, send out invites that allows timing for the best attendance.
